I used to journal a lot but stopped. I think the reason why was because after a while my entries started to feel repetitive and unhelpful. They weren’t moving me forward in my life.
That’s why when I heard that Ink+Volt was coming out with a prompt journal, I had to try it. I have loved their planner for years (and even reviewed it here) and wanted to see if their journal would revive my love of journaling.
If you’ve ever wondered what to journal about, this journal is for you. It feels more structured and productive than a regular journal, as the prompts encourage you to reflect on different areas of your life. I also love that it’s undated, as it allowed me to skip around and not stress if I missed a day.
If you’re familiar with the Ink and Volt planner, some of this reflection questions may remind you of the weekly reflection page. Confession: I never used that page for that purpose, even though I loved the prompts. I bring my planner into business meetings to flip through to-do lists and make notes on the calendar, and it always felt weird to have journal pages in the mix too. And what if I ever forgot my planner in a meeting room? So this journal is perfect. It gives the same insightful reflection prompts, but never needs to leave my bedside table. It’s the perfect solution.
The prompts encourage self-reflection, as they include topics such as:
- If you want to change your life, change something small. It is the small things we do every day that add up like compound interest in our lives. What habit do you need to change or create?
- Gratitude can change your life. What can you do to show your appreciation and love to the most important people in your life?
- Use your energy wisely. What deserves your energy? What doesn’t? You can only do so much every day – how can you make sure that your energy is going towards the things that matter most?
These pages made me dig deeper than the first thought that popped into my head, as I wanted to fill the page for each prompt. The more I wrote, the more impact the prompt had. I loved that it encouraged me to sit and think about the habits and behaviors I have and whether or not they are helping me reach my life goals.
I felt like this journal helped me make a habit of quiet reflection, which made it easier to identify the tools I needed – and already had within me – to meet my goals. I highly recommend this journal for anyone with big dreams.
Thank you to Ink and Volt for the gifted journal in exchange for an honest review.
